| What is Hypnosis Hypnosis is
a state of consciousness one enters and leaves naturally all the time during your
day-to-day experiences. It feels much like day dreaming (i.e. the state between
sleeping and waking). Hypnosis is a guided fantasy. In this state of relaxation
you are more open to suggestions. In this state (also called alpha) your brain
wave vibration rate slows down, giving you access to your Subconscious mind. While
your conscious mind is still completely aware of what is going on the whole time,
in this relaxed state of mind, your subconscious mind has the ability to accept
information given to it by the hypnotist. For many people the word Hypnosis
brings about feelings of fear and apprehension. They think they will be unconscious
and under the control of the Hypnotist. Nothing could be further from the truth.
When you are hypnotized, you are deeply relaxed both mentally and physically.
Many times you are more alert than in your normal state of awareness. You have
total control over what you will and will not do. You can instantly reject anything
that makes you feel uncomfortable. If you like and accept the suggestions the
hypnotist gives you, you can allow these suggestions to enter your subconscious
mind. Your subconscious is like a compute; and will respond to what you allow
to enter. For example: if you see yourself as fat, then you are fat; if you are
convinced that you are a smoker, then you smoke. This same concept is true with
shyness, poor self-image, fear of heights, spiders, close spaces, etc. Hypnosis
enables you to access your subconscious compute and re-program yourself to be
whatever you wish. Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
A. Yes!
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind. Anyone can be hypnotized if: 1. They
want to be hypnotized (no one can by hypnotized against their will). 2. They
have NO fear of being hypnotized. Q. Can
you be hypnotized without your consent? A.
No! If at anytime you want to emerge from the hypnotized state,
for any reason, you can simply open your eyes and become fully alert. No one can
keep you in hypnosis against your will; nor can you be made to do anything against
your religious, ethical or moral beliefs. Q.
What can I expect from a session at Avalon Hypnosis
Center? A.
You will watch a short video which will explain what hypnosis is and how it will
help you achieve your goals (when you complete viewing this video, you will know
more about hypnosis than the general public). Your hypnotist will discuss your
goals or any issues you may have. She will then explain how you can quickly achieve
your desired results. When you are comfortable
with the process, the session will begin. You will be guided into a very deep
state of mental and physical relaxation. Although very physically relaxed, you
will be extremely alert mentally. You will be aware of everything around you.
The hypnotist will then give your subconscious suggestions for the changes you
desire to make or problems you would like addressed, allowing you to accomplish
goals and eliminate problems. As you complete the third element of the session,
you will emerge from this deep state of relaxation with suggestions of good health
and a positive attitude. It is our goal for you to feel better than you have for
a long time. Q. Is Self-Hypnosis
Possible? A. Yes! Whether
you are a new client or just returning for a wonderful relaxing experience of
hypnosis, we can help you learn one of your most powerful tools, self-hypnosis.
With your permission, we will instruct your subconscious mind to allow you to
